Employment Opportunites

Why work for HDH?

HDH is an entirely self-supporting department committed to recruiting and supporting a talented and diverse workforce, fostering growth, job satisfaction, and personal / professional development. Opportunities include:

  • Tuition reimbursement for career development through our Funds for You program.

Employees are encouraged to further improve their education through department training programs, courses available through UC San Diego Staff Education or professional organizations, and state / national conferences. Programs are typically funded by the individual division, however, HDH recognizes that there may be a need for additional support for long-term educational programs such as those leading to a degree or special certification. Funds for You is designed to address this need for its career employees.

  • Management development.
  • Cross-trainings.

These provide both classroom and hands-on experience in higher-level jobs for periods ranging from 3 to 6 months. They strengthen participants’ skills and resumes, and increase their ability to compete with external candidates.

  • ESL courses.
